I'll toss in that the seven years is a smokescreen as well. It hasn't been seven years of pain and misery. That is simply the villifying that the WAS does in order to justify their actions to themselves.

This morning, in a message from a friend, he was saying my W said she has just been too miserable the past 8 years to go on any further. Ummm... we've only been married 5 and dated 2. So apparently she was miserable before we met!
