Just as I suspected. Unbelievable that she didn't call or come back but nothing you can do. You offered her some help. I expect she will try again but you have to be ready for it and offer what you are comfortable with. Some advice, a meal - whatever. But don't be taken advantage of.
I have a friend who I've known my entire life. But she is up and down. Good for a few days, gone for a few days. Each time I see her I fear it will be the last but I can't enable her. She has to sort it out for herself and stop drinking.
I have been slightly distracted since my friend showed up the other day. I didn't realize how much until I locked myself out of the office today! My boss is out of town doing appointments and I realized I didn't have my keys until I let go of the door! Thankfully his wife kept her set from when she worked with us.
Also S16 had basically gotten a job at the movie theater with his brother as long as he passes his math test and the manager likes him. I haven't met anyone that doesn't just adore Ryan. He is a really cute kid and has a really fun personality. So the question is now what am I going to do every other weekend while the boys are working and I am by myself.
I suppose life presents opportunities when it is time.

Did I say I needed a distraction? Well I got one regardless. I am house sitting for my parents who live about 30 minutes out of town. For some reason S16 thinks he needs to let their African Grey Parrot out(we don't when we are house sitting as it is highly unlikely we would get her back in her cage). I didn't realize he did this as I was feeding the cat.
I about freaked out! He told me he did and I asked him why. He said because she looked like she wanted out. Of course she did. It was a 3.5 hour adventure to see who would win in the end. We finally got a towel over her and got her picked up and back in the cage. She was not a happy girl. We were relieved and dashed out to the car to take us home! What a night. thank goodness I can laugh about it now.

She landed on me at least 4 times which made it even more interesting. When I told my Dad today he said yep, just throw a towel over her when she is on the floor or when she lands on something, which is what we eventually did. Like I said much easier to see the humor now.
Funny how S16 and I bonded over that. Maybe we needed to feel a bit closer...nah! We are pretty close already.
Well I am out of here. Catch you guys later.

I feel as if the week is a big train that decided to crash into me on Fridays! I am so tired. Haven't been sleeping well since my friend that is now homeless just sort of disappeared. No way to get a hold of her to check on her.
S16 is on his second weekend of working. Tonight I actually had 4 hours to myself and I had some ideas of what I was going to do but after about an hour I thought I will lay down for a quick nap. Ended up being a couple of hours...oooppss!
Saw the cards won in baseball. Cardinals are always a good sign for me let's hope they are now too.

I think I've got the flu. I was getting a bit organized for my organizer and just started feeling awful. I took some Tylenol and thought that would help. Still didn't feel better when she got here. We will move it to next weekend.
Off to sleep. kat

Today is ex's one year anniversary with his new wife. I don't think I feel much about it but I remember the date as it is on the same day as my dear friend Karen's birthday.
Happy birthday Karen if you stop by.
