This is my first post and yet I have been reading this board for the past couple of weeks. I found a lot of strength in just reading stories which is why I have decided to share mine.
Story: My wife left a little over a month ago and has said she needs space to get her thoughts together, be on her own, and focus her attention on her work.
This all began about 6 months ago when she started acting/behaving differently. At first she was just very unhappy and didn't know why. She kept saying she feels like she is going through a MLC. It then developed into things that I need to work on such as self esteem and aggression. I took this as a total shock as she has never mentioned anything like this to me prior to this. We supposedly worked through things and I thought all was well again. This went on for about 3 months.
Then one day she just flipped and said she wanted a divorce. i was told this time that everything she had been feeling was due to me. She said I was controlling, disrespected her, etc.
She has completely moved her stuff out to a new place and won't even tell me where she has moved to. I am being treated like a total stranger and little respect is given to me when we do communicate.
Met with my W a couple of days ago and was told that she wants to move forward with the D. She says she is happier now than she has been for a long time. When she was talking to me she would smile at the end of a statement and it seems like she is enjoying what she is doing. Almost as if she is getting pleasure by telling me she is so happy without me. I do not understand how the person I have been with for over 10 years can treat me less than a random stranger. I am also struggling to understand how one month can give her the kind of clarity that she says she is experiencing.
