Hi All...

Well it's been a whirlwind of activity around here...lets see...we went to see my nephew's band play at a local lounge on Friday night...some of my students (who are in his youth group) were there.

There's a side story there and an issue I need advice on, but that;s another post.

Saturday we headed out and bought paint, supplies, stuff for dinner. CJ made breakfast first.

We made dinner together (double baked potatoes, mushrooms and lobster tails...those things cost a fortune here, but it WAS valentine's day).

Indeed CJ did buy me a little gift...some essential oil, a box with suggestion cards for "romantic ideas"...

Alas after dinner we felt brave enough to try our untried technique on a sample wall in the kitchen. It worked out really well...about 40% paint and 60% acrylic glaze...roll on sections and then scrumble and press in with a sponge. With two coats it looks a bit like suede or warm marble, that kind of thing.

It DID turn out a rather brighter gold than I'd anticipated, but with the art back up, the new wood floor and the drapes it will all pull together.

Best part is that we worked WELL together...minimal tension, lots of good humour.

And as much as I'd like to lay this on the doorstep of painting inside during the winter...I've been hacking my lungs out for two days so it seems I'm getting another bloody cold!!! ...Good thing I have to see my Doc. this week anyway.

Sorry I haven't been able to catch up at all...but I've got to work with this whilst it lasts!!

Shiny
