and focus on s4 and his illness. Our d14 has a weird habit of HIGH ass fevers and my h is an MD

she had a 105.2", which h did not believe b/c d14 (then 12) was just saying she felt hot and her "skin itched" and she had a headache... H figured the thermometer was off b/c no way wouldn't she complain more or act delirious. Apparently THIS child of ours (unlike her older dramatic siblings)

is understated when it comes to pain/discomfort.

(OMG- If it were her brother (s25) he'd be reading the Phys Desk Ref and diagnosing his own headache due to a possible brain tumor or an "intra-cranial bleed" etc)

So I bought two more expensive thermometers and came home@ 11pm.

H retested all of 3 thermometers on her and us, and her temp was 105.5F verified/confirmed...

we cooled her off and gave meds and it got lower...but WTH?

The pediatrician said "she gets high fevers"... shocked

(I swear to God that was his "diagnosis" which, guess what, WE KNEW!!)

But high fevers are scary and CAN be bad news.

the good news it that your concern will show and it matters to the little guy AND w and probably mil.

Make this ALL about him as if you did not notice mil's rudeness. Besides, you two have history which you mistakenly thought was "all fixed" and it's sooo NOT... and she's likely been going over her "grievance list" about you which you don't know about- OR control, so let it go...

Trust me, you have pissed her off before and that's that. All you can do is go "from this day forward" and say nothing about OW or w or the R or blah blah blah....

Being the best PARENT you can be right now is your only job today.
