Update - Journaling

Nothing much new since Wednesday night.

He came to pick up the kids for visitation Friday, we had a brief discussion about kids' school fees, financial roadblocks, parent teacher interviews, and my work schedule. He made a comment about how he is watching a good friend of his try to fill his emptiness with alcohol, and how he realizes he is on a similar path, but not using alcohol.
I offered a hug, he accepted.

I am feeling curiously insulated and set apart from the goings on in my life right now. I still care, but it's almost as if I'm an observer not actually a participant.

It seems once I let the words I wrote fall from my lips , everything within me changed.
