This is exactly what was happening at first with my WAS. She was constantly (still is) texting-- supposedly several people, but then it came out it was one close 'friend'. I totally identify with your 'being in a puddle on the floor." If it weren't for my S4 I wouldn't rise up from the puddle ever.
