Guess between my journaling and my complaining, I got up over 100 posts again.

H dropped S7 off on time tonight, which is nice, given that punctuality isn't one of his strengths.

I barely saw him - the door was open to let the breeze in so S7 just came in - I sent him to give H a hug, and smiled at H but didn't speak to him.

S7 always comes in and says, "Mommy! I *missed* you!" and then gives me a huge hug - warms my heart.

I love my kids to death, love having some time for me, but I also love having them come running into my arms when they come home.

S7 is very excited about our plans for tomorrow - he talked all night about them. He's very big into making plans, which is cute.

H didn't call to wish him goodnight - last Saturday he did, since he drops him off at 5pm. Suppose I'll have to ask him to decide which he's going to do consistently, so S7 doesn't get his hopes up.

How ya doing today? It always warms my heart when my kids come home as well, but like Julz I also enjoy my "me" time. Personally I think it makes me a better mother because of it.

Hey hey - I'm doing well, had a pretty busy (but fun!) day.

Hung out with S7 and watched Phineas & Ferb this morning - he loves it. Then we headed out to the Pike Place Market (very famous Seattle landmark, lots of fun).

My office is a block from it, so I parked in the building and then we met up with a couple coworkers (one of the PMs who reports to me, and the "friend", who is on a different team) - S7 really likes my PM so he was excited to hang out with him.

We bought flowers and apples (only one for eating) and then had some sushi.

After that S7 and I headed to Target (now is when you get really jealous) to buy staples (including the Lean Cuisine Spinach & Artichoke dip that I'm developing an unhealthy addiction to), and now we're home!

I'm making waffles and scrambled eggs for dinner, and then I think I'm going to bake some browned butter blondies to take to work tomorrow. Because I'm awesome like that.

Is that Lean Cuisine dip good? I just saw a commercial, the funny one where the lady in the office is singing while she eats it. Hmmm, I'll have to give it a try!

ThatGirl - It's so awesome, I'm seriously in love with it. The little pitas you get along with it are also taste-tastic. Seriously, you have to find it.

So H sent a mail this morning, offering to take S7 shopping for his school uniforms.

Now, the entire time we've had S7, H has literally never shopped for clothes for him. Ever.

And, in this mail, he specifically called out shopping at a place that sells shirts that S7 *hates*. Which I've told him, multiple times. Clearly he's never actually listened to me.

And I have to say, this feels like another "didn't really need to be sent" mail, although I'm sure he'd claim he's "just trying to be involved" or something.

Not interested in responding today, so I'll do it tomorrow morning.

Having a pretty good day. Responded to H with a little more detail than usual "No thank you!" or whatever. Offered to let him take S7 shopping for school supplies if he wanted.

He responded saying he was just trying to make sure I didn't have to do everything (not that he cared about that before he left), and he'd do whatever - just let him know.

Have decided that mail does not require a response.

Really like it better when I'm not getting emails from him, so not interested in encouraging it.

Feeling a little down tonight. Not .. down down, just a touch of blue. Mostly around the fact that I was missing S7 tonight, and I'm not looking forward to him spending even more time away from me.

Trying not to become angry at the the fact that selfish choices made by other people will deprive me of time with my son, whom I love dearly.
