I called ahead to the base I intended to go to and asked:
What do I need to bring? (2 kinds of identification) What where their hours? ( 9:00 - 3:30) Do I need an appointment ( First come, first serve)
The hardest thing, depending on the base you are going to, is getting into the base without a sticker on your vehicle. Luckily, the base I went to had it's DEERS/ID Station outside of the gates. If your husband accompanies you, with his ID and his vehicle, it shouldn't be that difficult.
