Morning all,

I'm OK, paige40. Thanks for thinking of me.

JS, too bad you can't make it East this weekend, but stay tuned. I'll keep posting our whereabouts. I'm sorry to read about your D's reaction to your W's FB activities. Our spouses can be so clueless...

In other news:

W is supposedly coming over this weekend to retrieve more of her things. I will be glad to have her stuff out of here so I can at least get the house in order.

SS21 is not doing well with her moving out. Apparently he has had several near-violent episodes at his day program, at her house and at his father's house. But whenever I have asked her how he is doing, she always replies that everything is just fine. It's his father and his stepmother who have been keeping me informed of his behavior.

I get my big boy bed delivered today. I've been sleeping in my son's standard, narrow twin bed for the last 5 months. My feet hang out over the end and I feel like I'm sleeping in a camp cot. W took "our" bed, which was fine since the mattress was too soft for me. So I'm looking forward to having room to stretch out.

Telemark, I think it would be fun to head East this weekend, too. It would be a heckuva GAL activity. I have my S for part of the weekend, though. I'm guess it would be about 8 hours for me. But heck, I am always up for a road trip! Back in the good 'ol days my W and I drove to Maryland for the day and had dinner in Pittsburgh.

Man, I hate to hear about SS21. At least for him. I'm sure you know it's affecting your W, but she's covering it up to justify her position. She feels like this is something she "has" to do.

Awesome to hear about the big boy bed. Hope you sleep well on it!

Ahhhhh...my first night of more than 4 hours of sleep in months!

Had to buy all the bedding, though (mattress pad, sheets, comforter, pillows - but no frilly pillow shams). Man, that gets to be expensive.

Now if I only had someone to fill the space next to me...

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts, jb & the rest of our tribe. W comes over tomorrow to get more of her belongings. I won't be there, which is just as well. I'm not sure if seeing her would put me down the rabbit hole or not.

Telemark - you could always get a dog..or a cat..
I'm sure they'd love to share the bed with you.

Telemark, I'm still catching up on your sitch and am about half way through so I can't really comment fully yet, but I just wanted to say that given the circumstances, I think you're handling this all with grace and dignity. (What you said to your wife about how you've both "been quick to anger" etc. was really poignant and brought a tear to my eye.)

Anyway, I'm also sorry about your SS21 having such a difficult time. It's heartbreaking when S or D affects the kids, no matter how old they are...

Thanks, DG, but I have 3 dogs and they're just not what I had in mind...

...know what I mean?

Thank you, E, for your kind words. I'm catching up with your situation, also. Sometimes I feel like I could give myself a full-time job just reading other stories and posting on this site.

Unfortunately SS21's autism brings a whole new set of issues to the table. Generally, autistic persons do not adapt easily to change, and he is especially unsettled by any change in his routine. And this is a big one for him.

Hope you both are doing well tonight.

This reminds me of something that happened to me this previous week. Our dog usually sleeps in her own bed. I woke up one morning and felt the presence of a warm body against my back. I almost rolled over and gave the dog a kiss like I used to do with my W every morning. shocked

Hope you rest well tonight!
