Pray for me y'all. Going in to retain a lawyer this morning and also discuss the issues regarding our son that I've posted this and past week. I forgot to mention that I won't be seeing my wife today either (because tonight's my night with our son), so I might end up sending her an email response to her "request" to take our son out of state for a month.

Maybe she isn't expecting any objection from you. It really doesn't matter. She will know that you mean business when you show up to the game completely prepared.

Stay strong and keep the faith.

It's that sense of entitlement, remember? And also the fact (like some here have pointed out) that I have been enabling her to do so, and not see the reality of things.

UPDATE 10am
Met up with my lawyer (officially representing me now, whoo-hoo!) and went over some details and the issue at hand. The short version is that my lawyer also recommends that I send her a letter without any legal talk or mention of a lawyer, but since my wife is leaving next Thursday, I need to obtain a response from my wife by THIS Thursday, so that if my wife, say, refuses to work something out, the law office has enough time to communicate and such with HER lawyer on Friday, and submit the paperwork to the court on Monday. So with great haste I drafted this letter, and I want to run it through our forum filters, i.e. YOU. Let me know what you think. I plan to send this out in the next 3-4 hours. Remember, the point of the letter is to propose my idea, while not mentioning anything about lawyers etc, but yet stress the urgency that she respond by end-of-day Thursday. Thanks in advance, y'all.

"Dear Wife,

Congratulations on your sub-internship site. I realize there will be some challenges with you needing to be in South Carolina for a month. I feel that it is in our son, Ezra’s best interest to get equal time with us. My proposal is:

a. E stays with me for two weeks (from 8/29 till 9/10), then I fly with him to SC to drop him off there.
b. You have E for the last two weeks you are there (9/10-9/25).

This arrangement gives E have a more reasonable, yet balanced time with either of us. If you have other suggestions let me know, I’ll be glad to discuss. It would also be helpful if you respond by the end of Thursday.

Sincerely,
Alamo"

My suggestions are in pink Alamo:

Don't want to insinuate she's being unreasonable, IMHO

I like the changes that QS and LP made. Not to mention your willingness to meet her halfway. Good job Alamo.

I'm starting a new thread to continue our current conversation, since this is getting awfully close to the 100 posts cut-off point.
