Well, the subject line sounds darker than it should, but it's another Douglas Adams title I'm shamelessly stealing, like my third thread. Speaking of which...

Rollercoaster of Love

Dark Side of the Moon

Life, the Universe and DBing

Not a lot to add since my last installment. I got a small storage locker yesterday, so I can start moving things out of W's house whenever. It's mostly boxes and things I don't use much, so no hurry. One set of things I'd like to get is my bookshelves and I think they'd fit in the apartment. If there's one thing that I have *way* too much of, it's books.

Going to MIL's for dinner tonight with my boys. FIL is going to be teaching in Europe this fall, so it might be the last we see of him before he leaves.

Speaking of which, university is starting soon, so finding an upgraded apartment is difficult to say the least right now. But on the upside, with all the new students I feel like Matthew McConaughey's character in Dazed and Confused cool

I found out yesterday that a group I like that I haven't seen (Smashing Pumpkins) is going to be in concert on my 5th anniversary. Tickets go on sale this weekend. Not planning on asking or taking my W at this point. Last I heard, she might be visiting her DD that weekend in CO, so it's not like we'd be together. Still...

I know I'm not fully detached yet in that W had complained how much she hated me for going dark, yet here she is pretty much doing the same to me. Who knows why, besides being a WAS. Nope, don't like it. Then again, it probably *is* for the best.

Your W may be going dark now, but I'd wager a tall burger and a cold beer that she will pop up and contact you about something "trivial" when you least expect it.

It's what they do!

HA, I used that exact lyric in a post in my last thread. Twas a good day it was. The one that really summed up how I felt was

my life has been extraordinary
blessed and cursed and won

Only question for me is where to see them, Chicago or Detroit?

TM, that would be a fool's bet smile

Oops, I didn't see that or I wouldn't have reposted it... I guess SP is a little better than listening to The Cure all the time :-)

I keep trying to tell myself to "Disarm you with a smile" when I see my W...

We should have agreed to an over/under smile
5:33 PM W: I have something from the car company.. a gift for you it says:)

I replied this morning that I like gifts and I'll arrange a time to come get it.

Had dinner with my boys, MIL and FIL yesterday. MIL and I were in the kitchen catching up when she mentioned she hadn't had a chance to read the MLC article I sent her. I summarized and let MIL know what was going on between W and I. MIL went off on her daughter! I was a bit taken aback when she went on how W threw all her ethics aside. I know blood is thicker than water, but still... I don't think OM will be invited over for tea and crumpets.

Other than that we had a great visit. Based on marking on MIL's wall, my S12 is now as tall as SD (as well as W and MIL). Still amazes me, especially when I see pics of all the kids in happier times when they were so small (sniff).

Finally got a call back from guitar instructor yesterday, I'm starting lessons tonight. Just another thing to add to my GAL repertoire! Along with 4 mile run after work, and maybe looking at apartments. Plus humane society with the kids tomorrow. That's why I come to work, to relax laugh

That's awesome about the guitar lessons, good for you!

Do you volunteer at the humane society?

DG,
yes, my boys and I started volunteering a couple of weeks ago. Helps me in that I can't have pets in my apartment, so I get some kitty-cat time while helping a good cause. Only issue is that it's on the opposite side of the city, so not easy to just pop in.

"Finally got a call back from guitar instructor yesterday, I'm starting lessons tonight."

Another lost soul crosses over to The Dark Side.

Won't be long until the dishes pile up, the clothes remain unfolded, the mail is unopened and the dust is an inch thick while you play the latest tune you've learned for hours.

Oh, wait...that's my house...never mind.
