It's a long weekend here and these are my plans: do the dishes, take out the recycle, do the laundry, vacuum, clean the kitchen floor, wash out the fridge, wash out the turtles aquarium, clean the bathroom and sweat my buns off! I've now completed task five and have discovered that the Shark Steam Mop really does work. I guess the trick is that you have to use it!!! I've also discovered where my food containers have all disappeared to. Is a frozen turkey from December still good? It's going to be a complicated weekend!
The Shark Mop as well as the Shark handheld steamer are the two BEST inventions of the last 20 years!!!!! They have made my life so much easier and make me feel like everything is so much cleaner without all the chemicals.
A frozen turkey from December? Probably not. It most likely has freezer burn.
And where oh where did all your food containers go? LOL Are they like socks except you end up with a lid with no bottom and vice versa?

Whatis was the talk of his workplace today...unfortunately. Yesterday we had an agency picnic and my male hormones kicked in and I set my sights on this cute little worker from another program, who I've been making connections with her bit by bit over the past few months. So I unleashed the alpha Whatis (whatever that may be) on her and she was buying. But, near the end of the day, when I was about to make my finale big move my brain said "you'd better think about this"...so I did, think about it that is. I was on a roll and everything was clicking but I decided not to let the endorphins do all my thinking. I was pretty sure she'd say yes but I thought about the fact that I have to see her professionally, she's also a Philippino here on a work permit (has been for three years), and she has some issues in her life which she appears to be handling capably but I'm not sure I want anybody elses drama in my life right now. So, I just felt I needed to think about this a little more. I got lots of time (Philippinos are notorious jumping into dating at about the speed of paint drying...in humidity!). We spent the whole afternoon together and it felt so nice to spend time with her. We went for a walk alone in the park and shared a bit about our lives etc. She has a 15 year old son back home who she wants to bring to Canada...her face lit up whenever she talked about him. When I told her I had two girls, 17 and 14, again, her face just lit up. I liked her a lot and would love to get to know her better but...I don't know. Today, I had hoped that my co-workers had not noticed my numerous absences yesterday or what I was doing but FAT CHANCE, "Hey Whatis, I hope you got a date, you spent the whole afternoon with her" and "You two looked so cute, walking together leaning inward...shoulder to shoulder, holding the same umbrella and oblivious to anything else but each other" and "hey, you should wear that flowered shirt more often, it's your "get lucky" shirt!" (I wore this really loud flowery shirt for laughs) A female co-worker asked me with a smirk, "so, uh, what were you up to at the picnic Whatis" and I replied "I was conducting a serious inter-agency consultation" What the hell was I thinking? Y'know, my life is pretty OK these days. I like doing what I like, when I like and without having to think about what someone else wants, needs blah blah blah. But, I also enjoyed walking and talking and sharing and feeling a warmth towards someone else yesterday and feeling that it was returned. Yukk, that scares the hell out of me too!!!! So stay tuned and for the next episode of "Watch Whatis Bail"!. We shall see.
OK, here's today's installment. She came into our workplace today and I was a little anxious. I felt good after our afternoon at the picnic but that's when I start to think "she's gonna blindside you!" It's happened before with others where life is looking good and suddenly a door is slammed in my face...while my face is still in it or maybe that's just how it feels! But, when I ran into her we had a nice chat and she seemed excited to see me. Whew! We looked briefly through her book on natural cures she had brought with her(she's got a bad back) and off I went back to work. We spoke again once in the morning. At lunch I was going out to parking lot and she was standing at the door waiting for her client (she has to be with this client pretty much at all times). I said "Hey, are you coming out to play?" and she burst out laughing "What are you talking about?" I said "I want you to come out and play with me!" She kept laughing, shook her head and said "I think I'll stay here, thank you!" I tried lol.
Oops! late in the afternoon I was passing my friend in the hall. See was sitting on a couch reading her Natural Cures book. Her job is boring as hell, she is supposed to monitor one individual client and basically make sure she doesn't run, so she sometimes brings books to pass the time. I asked her if she'd found anything interesting and she told me she did and wanted to show me some stuff on acupuncture. So, I sat down beside her and she started going through the book with me. Just then my boss came in from outside and there's Whatis sitting on the couch in the hall with a women browsing through a book about acupuncture...on work time. My boss is a stickler for petty sh!t so I expect to hear about this...especially since my yearly review is next week. I told my friend that I thought I was going to get crapped on for this and she said "then go, quickly before she comes back!" I just hope the boss doesn't call my Mommy on me!
Hey Wii: You are moving forward! Sounds interesting. It's hard to date someone from your workplace but people do it all the time. Are there any "rules"about it at your workplace?
It does sound like she is also interested so I guess you will have to see how it goes. And keep track of your feelings. But you have taken a while to heal and it sounds like you're ready.
I will be waiting to hear your next installment. LOL!
