He's an insensitive lout, but remember to believe nothing that they say. It has been my experience from reading and hearing that saying that you should date and actually knowing that you are dating is two different things. I've heard of many MLCer's when they find out their S or XS is dating, well it kind of puts their shorts in a twist.
Apparently, even MLCers don't like to think they can be replaced, even when they're the ones that walked.
As far as comebacks, tell him thanks for the advice dear, but I'm going to be a h3ll of a lot more selective than that the next time.
Or you could say, do you really think so and so would make a good step father for S?
Now, I'm just kidding with these comebacks as they are against DB principles but sometimes...
