Three dogs?! Good lord, man.

Tell me more. What kind of dog? I'm seriously considering getting one. S7 always wanted one but H was adamantly opposed - barely even tolerated our cat.

STBX hasn’t finished moving all her stuff out yet. I wonder where she’ll put it all.

I hope to handle it half as well as you have.

Tumbleweeds I understand, I got the dog in the process. He’s a short hair double coat, but there is enough surface area that the house needs a vacuum about every third or fourth day.

Very nice, Telemark. Your S is awesome. You have until football season to get the new TV and surround sound. We're there, dude! grin

Y'all make me laugh...thanks!

a girl, the 2 older dogs are from a rescue farm in the next county; we got them 7 years ago. The male looks like a black flat-coat retriever...but he hates water. So we're not sure. The female looks like a shepherd/pit bull mix. Dog #3 is actually one of their puppies from a litter she had 4 years ago. Nice dog, but dumb as a bag of hammers.

JustStunned,
it's tough to deal with the drawn-out moving-out process; I feel for you. But I've read your posts and you will be OK. Once your W is really "out" you'll probably feel a sense of relief that you can now really focus on your own living arrangements.

jb & KD, you guys kill me...

Roomba - hilarious!

I think I'm going to go with a Philips 40" 1080p/120Hz/LCD HDTV. Can't go much larger than 40" because of the room size (or the budget size...).
Philips 2000W 6.1 Dolby Digital/Pro Logic II Surround System with all the bells & whistles.

Now just need to find the right seating so you guys are comfortable as we watch Penn State grind everyone into the dirt...

Telemark, I am glad to see you're holding up OK through all of this and we can occasionally make you laugh.

I think it was hardest for a few days after the move. I started having thoughts like, "She's been gone 4 days, shouldn't she be missing me by now?" I was overwhelmed at first with taking care of the house and all of the related work, planning meals for my S, and making sure my S got off to the school bus on time.

Ah come on, go bigger. You only live once. It's easy spending someone else's money. laugh

I'm OK with that. I just checked their schedule and they're not playing anyone I'm a big fan of. Good luck with 'Bama though.

Thanks, jb. Last evening was a little rough. Around 5:30 I instinctively looked for W's car pulling into our driveway...

As I had mentioned, the last 2 weeks were better for us than the last 5 months, and we agreed to not be so disconnected from each other. But I have a strong feeling that W will disappear further into her own world. I think the only way I will be able to get through this transition is to go dark and expect no contact from her.

I did look at a 46" Toshiba for about $100 more; that's the maximum size limit for the room. But I really don't see where an additional 6" of screen is worth $100. I'm not a big TV watcher to begin with. Decisions, decisions...and regarding Penn State, I didn't even go there; I spent 2 years at Syracuse. But around here everybody bleeds blue & white, so I jumped on the Nittany Lion bandwagon. I just like to watch a good game; doesn't matter if it's baseball, football, college or pro.

"We had a flat-coat... best dog ever."

Buster is a wonderful dog; friendly, loyal and gentle with kids. I assume he's mostly flat-coat just from seeing other flat-coats and looking at pictures, but since we did get him as a rescue, I really don't know for sure.
