More often than not the advice is to address problems within yourself.
I am blown away by the fact that it is nearly impossible to convince these posters that there is nothing wrong with them!

You're both wrong. Harley's research (and others) indicate that there are about 25-30% of the cases of infidelity where there were NO prior marital problems reported, by either spouse.
3/4ths of the time, yes -- the betrayed spouse has some 'splainin' to do, and has contributed to the marital dysfunction.
25% of the time, infidelity occurs in a marriage where there were NO issues?
I have no statistics, but I am VERY skeptical of that number.
I can allow for some cases where someone just has some sort of pathology towards infidelity, but otherwise, I don't believe a spouse goes a lookin, if things are working right at home.
