I'm sure this was hard to do, but you're doing it for the kids, and that says a lot about you as a Dad.

It was actually pretty easy to say.

Ironically I had just met with my Pastor a couple of hours prior. He asked me if my L had advised me to help with any child support while everything gets settled and I said no. He told me that it was a good idea to help, because I am doing it in the best interest of the kids and the court frowns on deadbeat dads. Point taken and perfect timing.

And the crazy train keeps on rolling....lol

My X is having a bbq this Saturday and has invited my mom, sister and niece. If she only knew that they would like to beat her ass for all the damage she has caused. crazy

I asked them to go for the kids. Of course I asked my sister to get me the lowdown on the house, the bbq, etc. I am noting all of it.

If she can spend $$ on taking the kids to a baseball game and throw a bbq, why couldn't she help me with a portion of the kids travel arrangements and is already asking me for $$?

She is working really hard to justify her decision and she has a sense of entitlement. It is laughable to be honest with you.

In the meantime, I continue to build my case and it is coming together quite nicely. smile

A little family detective work going on huh?

If it helps your case, I don't blame you. It is a little odd she invited your family. Think she'll be shocked if they show up?

You know, she could of thought, "they will never come, so I will invite them to show how comfortable I am with my decision."

Who knows, just a thought. Could also be a genuine attempt to smooth things over.

Like I said, who knows.

This seems universal.

My guess is she thinks that everyone has bought her POV of our situation. She has told herself enough times that I was an absent husband/father that she believes it. Her perception is the truth despite what anyone else says.

She doesn't realize that I am working extra hard to build my case to prove all of her claims about me are untruthful. I have asked my L to get this mess out of the mud and to focus completely on me as a father and the well being of our kids. The truth.

I have people spanning our entire relationship that are writing statements and/or willing to testify on my behalf. From our kids pediatrician to our Pastor, our S5 t-ball coach, all of my supervisors…..the list goes on. I’m trying to cover all of my bases.

When the pediatrician called me and I told him my X and I are getting a divorce, he was shocked. When I went on to tell him that she call me an absent father, this was his response…..”What? You would be the last person that I would call an absent father. You were in here as much as she was, if not more. We would be willing to pull the records.”

I asked him if he could write a statement letter just simply stating the facts. He said absolutely. Obviously there was more to the convo, but that is a huge catch for me.

My X has until Friday to file all of her supporting documents and as far as I can gather, she isn’t going to be filing anything. I have until next Wednesday to file mine, so being the respondent does have its benefits.

I realize that I am not doing much DB’ing, so I hope what I am posting is helpful to others. I’m going to continue at least journaling, so I have another place to reference.

You could very well be right.

Shoot, truth is, she may not even know. Rational thought does not seem to be the MO of the WAW.

I am not so sure about that. You are staying strong. You seem to have really detatched. You are doing what is best for the kids. You have stayed polite and compassionate.

Sounds like DB'ing to me.

You are right Country. After all DB'ing is for ourselves. It has certainly helped me get to the place I am at right now.

As I am in the middle of a custody battle, I am wondering if any of you can recommend any type(s) of counseling that I can look into for my children. I know that my D8 is taking it hard and I would like to get her help as soon as possible.

Any help/suggestions are appreciated.
