Good to hear how you are moving forward. BTW, OM must have felt very uncomfortable with you & W. I bet he was intimidated to the max. grin

It is not about what you feel should work in your M. It is about doing the work that gets the right results. Do what works!

Thanks. Generally, I think I'm in a good place. Plus, anytime I can intimidate someone (at 5'8", 140 pounds) I'll take it smile

Very slow day at work, not much going on. Had following email convo with W today (and yes, I initiated it):

LP:
W,
Just wanted to see how SD did with her surgery. Hope everything went well and that she's doing alright.

Me

W:
Everything went good. She is in a lot of pain. Not sure she will be up for icecream tonight but I guess we will wait and see. Thanks for asking. I just got lots of mail for you yesterday including a netflix movie.

LP:
Glad to hear everything went well! SD's comfort is more important than frozen deserts. I'll text her after work/run and see how she feels.

My backup plan is to go see a movie tonight. It's been so long since I had my wisdom teeth out that I forget when the pain/discomfort subsides. I do clearly remember the infection two days later, though. Don't think I ever mentioned that to SD...

SD just texted me saying she felt like throwing up now. She also said that if we go after 9, FIL can join us. Texted back that I would check later to see how she was and that a nap might help her.

Had a really pleasant evening with my kids last night. S14 was acting perfectly normal, which is always good.

More baby steps (in a way): my car is in Seattle, now they just need to put it on a train. Again, not sure when that will be, but at least it's in the US now.

I think that if my current career doesn't pan out, KD and I should become bouncers laugh

The big question is:

What model car are you getting?

Mazda 2 (zoom zoom!). I like small zippy cars. Not quite ready for the red convertible MLC car. Yet.

I don't think I'm their target demographic, but then, I *feel* like a 30 year old, so I guess I could drive small and zippy.

The reason it's taking so long: I insisted on a manual transmission on the top trim line. Again, not their target demographic, so I guess I'll learn some patience or something smile

It's bright and early Saturday morning and I'm going running in an hour. Today is supposed to be 10 miles. I ran 9 last week, but for some reason, that second digit makes it all the more daunting.

SD wasn't up for ice cream last night so I went to a movie instead. Told her I'd check on her afterward. When I did, she said she was at MIL/FIL's house with their friends. Briefly thought about stopping by, but decided that I'd try to get some sleep instead. Besides, I'm going to their house this evening with my boys, maybe SD will come over too.

When I got home around 9:30, I noticed W was logged into her email/chat. I found that odd since there's a week long music festival going on and I know she has tickets. It also struck me odd that she wasn't with SD/ILs. If I had to guess she was home alone as I don't think she'd be online if OM was over. I know I'm wasting brain cells thinking about this, just found it interesting.

OK, 10 mile run, volunteering at the humane society with the boys and backyard fire at the ILs tonight (in the 90 degree heat no less). Busy day ahead, better get it started!
