I get a kick out of reading your post because I imagine you talk much the same as you write.
I think that it is cool that you are heading out to the lake and having some fun and I think you should continue to live your life and have some fun.
Introduction to the children of a 'friend' is always something you need to be careful with and even though your W has shown little concern with this that is no concern of yours. YOU need to take the higher road here not for your sitch but for yourself.
All I am saying is move a snails pace and do not look to OW to fill any kind of void. Look at her for her qualities and as a person who could potentially add value to your life.
