How should I play things tomorrow with MIL?

portray happiness and GAL with concerns for kids, tell them how I feel, I want w back (if w is prepared to work on us and her) or anything else?

I was going to go with the first one, but we do get on well, and they are sad over the situ.

They are concerned that w may be having a MLC and her head is not right.
