Red, my H is a conflict avoider too. He is never mean and only brings up bad things about our marriage and myself when in R talk. I try to avoid that as much as possible. I don't see of speak to him much at all. He has pretty much abandoned D16 and that probably hurts the most.

I too worry he will keep everything inside and not ever work through his issues, but I've come to realize I can't do anything about it. I fear his pride will get in his way and he won't even admit he is wrong. Whatever!

I too have lost weight, which I'm down 69lbs. I started before the bomb, but H has never even mention how good I look. I think it is hard for him to even see it at this point. I feel great and get compliments all the time. Which is awesome for me. I didn't so this for him, but for me and I am staying on this weight loss journey for me.

Blessings!

Red,

My H is conflict avoidant as well. Never did get alot of spew. For all I know he is a WAS. It doesn't matter too much to me anymore. It took me quite awhile to feel this way though.

He does visit D's one day a week (usually), but you could count on one hand how may times they have stayed with him in the 3+ years he's been gone.

All I can tell you is that it really does get easier.

Patience is a virtue ...

Everybody hurts. It's part of life. Don't miss the good stuff.
