A simple "I understand W, I know how difficult this must be for you" would have gone a lot further IMO.

I know you got defensive about a lot of the advice you received here, so take this for what it is.

This letter screams how YOU'RE feeling. How YOU'RE hurt. What YOU want. When YOU want it.

Your W has made it clear to you she does not want to be pushed. So STOP pushing.

Use the time to really look at yourself and start working on areas you would like to improve.

When you do talk with W, validate HER feelings. Do not make it about how "you hurt too." I am sure that p's her off to no end. She is not worried about YOUR hurt right now.
