you are not wrong at all to be upset that H won't/can't be at your surgery. However... please remember that us guys are poor mind readers. Despite being S, I don't think it's out of line to express disappointment that he can't be there (if it's done respectfully). I know one of the things my W didn't like was when I was hurt but didn't tell her. It showed a lack of communication on my part and also led to feelings boiling over after a point.

Glad you could have a laugh at the rain and storms. Remember that after the storms comes a beautiful sunset/sunrise.
