Well Kevin - Newnan was about the same as Canton. Ceiling too low to fly. But let me start from the beginning.

I have a two alarm, Alarm clock and my first alarm is set for 5:15 am and the 2nd alarm is set for 6:30. Yesterday when my first one went off I just turned it off and went back to sleep. I really don’t remember the second one going off but I woke up around 8:00. Fixed coffee and showered and then headed to the gym for my workout. Got there around 9:30 and had a really nice workout - ended around 11 and after changing I headed over to the airport (about 15 minutes away)

When I got to the airport my instructor told me that we could not fly due to the weather so I talked some and got some equipment I would need. Flight computer, plotter, flight manuals, log book and the most expensive, the radio headphones. Figured that if I went ahead and got the gear I would be locked into going ahead and starting my lessons. My instructor told me that my old log books and computer would still work but the plotter changed some and I needed the new one and if I could find my old stuff I could turn in the new ones for credit. Also reset my intro flight for Sunday at 11.

I then left the airport and called C to see if I could stop by and go through my stuff which is stored in the shed in her back yard. I have so much stuff and it is packed so tight in the shed that I really do not have any hope of finding it until I move it all out, but I went over anyway just in case I could get lucky - - - Not what you are thinking, with finding my flight gear, not with her. Honest! When she answered the phone she said sure I could come over but that her youngest S was there and was going to take her to lunch and she might be gone when I get there. She then asked what I was looking for and I told her my flight computer. She did not understand at first and since I actually own about 10 or so PC computers and some of my older ones are in storage she thought I was looking for one of them. So I explained that the flight computer was a small plastic or metal device that is about 10 inches long and about 4 inches wide and only ˝ inch thick and is used in working out cross country flying. She then asked if I was starting to fly again and I said yes, that is where I had to be this morning at 11. She responded with “Oh, I thought you had a secret date or something” I think by being mysterious about where I had to be made her cu

Well, when I got there I noticed that S’s car was still in the driveway and as I parked near his car, I noticed that C and S came out of the door and started walking my way. When they got close and afer saying hi, S asked me if I wanted to go with them. I told them I had eaten but looked at C and said that if she wanted me to go I would and get coke or something. She, without hesitation, started avidly shaking her head yes and said “definitely, yes”. So I went with them down the street to a local BBQ.

While driving down the road and just chit chatting, C told S that I had started to take flying lessons again and how I had taken lessons long ago and always wanted to finish up. Now I remember showing C some of my flight gear when moving some boxes before and that I had soloed before but I do not remember putting much emphasis on it. Guess she pays attention to more that I thought.

When we got back I helped S (a sophomore in college) to load some software onto his new laptop. C likes me to help with her sons. While working on that C told me that she was babysitting her Grandkids that night and since I still needed to give them my Christmas presents I could stay and give them there gifts. Since I really wanted to give them the gifts before the start of summer I said OK. She also wanted to use my SUV to pick up a cloths tree for her house and it would not fit into her car so we hoped into my SUV and went shopping. Found the Tree and then went to Koals Department store (they were having a 70% off sale). We first went to the lady’s area and found lots of nice blouses and some skirts. And then we went to the mens area, got myself a sports jacket and picked out several shirts (large) but when I got to the dressing room and showed C the shirt we noticed that they were hanging a little more loosely than they use to so we dropped down to a medium and they fit really well. C was kinda surprised that mediums fit that well.

We met her other son, his GF and the Grand kids in the parking lot, loaded up the kiddie seat and the kids. Before S and GF left C also told them that I started to take flying lessons again. We took kids to dinner and then home. While on the way home she heard from 3rd and oldest son who told us that eh was coming over that night and had Drill the next morning at 7 at the local base. He was due to be released the next day and this was his last drill. He was there when we got home with the kids. C started the kids on a movie (Spy Kids) and we talked with oldest son. Again, she told him about me starting to fly again. By the time the move was over, the kids were ready to go to sleep and we put them to bed.

I told C that when I came over I really did not plan on spending the night but she told me that she wanted me to stay. We then went to bed and although no ML we did spoon and cuddle a lot. And, at my suggestion, she set her alarm to get up and fix breakfast for son at 5:15. I got up with her and I fixed the omelet for S while she fixed the coffee. We then sat and talked with him and drank our coffee while he ate breakfast. After he left, we sat on the coach and slept til after 8. The kids got up and we fixed them breakfast and played with them some and middle son and GF came over to get kids. As they got there I had to go to the airport for my intro flight so I left.

Started my flight and instructor walked me through the pre-flight check list and we started to taxi to take off and the instructor said lets see what you remember. (Remember I had not really been in an airplane for almost 25 years.) Well folks, I hate to brag but my instructor said I had not lost anything. We took off, again with me in control (but really taking off is the easy part, landing is a different story) we went out aways from the airport ( really over C’s house, took a few photos too) and I did some maneuvers, straight and level flight, standard rate turns, climbs, descents, radio traffic, entering the landing pattern and landing the plane. And my instructor let me do everything with almost no assistance except that she did help some with the landing just a bit. She was very impressed and said I should solo again without any problem and very soon. (solo is good in that you don’t have to pay for the instructor to go with you) I have another lesson in two weeks (would love to do it sooner but $ is a problem)

After the flight I met C at the gym and we did a work out together. She was really upset with herself for not going any last week and wanted me to push her to go more often. After the workout we went to Zaxby’s for some chicken wings and I then went home. She told me she had a really good relaxing day and really enjoyed me spending the night and spooning (she had not called it that until I did) and she said she was looking forward to our workout date on Tuesday at 6am.

Well it has been a long post but wanted to journal and to update all on the sitch. I also believe she got a little hint of me maybe not being always there, but I do believe I will have to drop the hint several more times in the future. When I do I will always be friendly and upbeat. And when we are together do all I can to make it a very pleasant time (want her to want to come back for more)
