It seems to be an accepted part of dbing to invite your STBX to participate in family things, so yesterday I texted mine to see if she wanted to go to D19's boyfriends playoff hockey game. She was too tired from working 15 hours the day before. I told her we would most likely be going out for dinner later, since I wouldn't have time to make the usual Sunday dinner for the kids and I. She said maybe she would join us.
I texted her later and she decided to come with us, even though she was not feeling well at all. Before we picked her up said to me on phone "Sorry, I look awful". I said "we don't need you for looks, just want you with us" and that "I look good enough for all of us". It was nothing fancy, but we had a nice dinner. It was the first time the whole family (we include D19's boyfriend in that) have been together in quite a while.
When we dropped her off she said bye to each of us individually and said "I love you all more".
The night really doesn't change anything, but at least we are back to being comfortable around each other and spending family time together. It looks like my decision to take her to the concert last week was a good one.
