Hey, just to point out that women can be just as bad! Posing on your bed or in your bedroom? Good choice! My favourite was the woman in the scuba outfit...with mask down! And writing "no game players please" says "I'm a bitter woman"...just what guys are looking for! Oh, and why post a picture that looks like a prison mug shot? It must attract the "bad boys". And posting "I'm looking for my soul mate" makes me wanna gag. Just some of my observations/opinions from my brief looks into the online dating world.
So........last week I finally went on a couple of dates.....with a very very charming younger man (who was here from another country on vacation, he's gone home now). It didn't feel weird or unnatural at all - although I must say he was much more mature than guys here of the same age tend to be.
Then last night I was out somewhere with my mom and ran into an old friend of my ex's, a guy I have known since our twenties. He's exactly my age. I haven't seen him in a couple of years, he's one of the friends I "lost in the divorce". HE LOOKED SOOOO OLD!!!!
I thought "Gee, if THAT'S my choice, between guys that look like him, and handsome young men like the guy I just dated - NO CONTEST!"
Now - lest you think I am just going for the superficial - let me just say, the younger man was smart, kind, honest, considerate, affectionate, interesting, fun. A truly outstanding human being in all ways, really. And I wish I could find someone just like him who was closer to my own age, even if they did look old. Oldish.
Lol - yeah, I see the words "soul mate" and cross them right off my list.
Guys actually write they're looking for their soul mate? I think that's guy speak for "looking for a good lay" or they think it's something women like to hear. Yuck!

"Hey ladies, I'm just a guy looking to fill an empty armchair in my living room. Channel surfing is always better done with that special someone. I'm also a fitness junkie and every evening I do quite a few sets of opening and closing the fridge door at lightning fast speed. I like to alternate arms to challenge myself. I usually add a little cardio to my work out by putting down the remote and walking over to the TV and changing the channels manually. Yet I'm not all about my body! I love those quiet walks to the garbage chute and making things happen for the environment by using the recycle bins. There are always people at my door, in fact, each week these really nice people called Jehovah Witnesses come by to visit me. We talk for hours and before they leave they're talking about coming back to visit me again! People just seem to be naturally drawn to me. How about you? Honestly, Wii (& I do believe it's all tongue in cheek) - some women WOULD respond to this. Because a good sense of humour is high on many women's lists. If we can't laugh at ourselves, who CAN we laugh at?

You're right Barb, I should take advantage of my seeming ability to cry at the drop of a hat lately... while I can still do it. I'll go for that sensitive male image! Thanks to Dad I could actually have a love life. Nothing like mixing grief and dating, what a winning combination!
