I agree with the pinball analogy!

One minute, they take the blame, the next it is on you! He may be fishing for you to take the blame away to ease some of his guilt!

We know that none of us were perfect in out M's. You know what you did and what you would change and you own it. And, you work on it!

Has he started backing up his words with actions?

The part of me that is now turning around and loving him unconditionally saw that he was suffering, that he is carrying a heavy burden.

I believe that this is what has to happen to finish the journey! You just have to sit back and let him go thru the process!
