What is the WAS going to do when they feel pressured?

That doesn't excuse his behavior, but it probably gives you an explanation. I don't think that it's bc he doesn't care about what is going on with you. He just doesn't know how to behave when he thinks that he's sure about wanting out of the M, but you are pressuring him to stay.
