That's where I originally started out, KML! We never talked about religion or different beliefs. We talked and preached about "nice" things we could all agree on. Once a minister pointed out "we shouldn't talk about religion because that just divides us, we should talk about what unites us" Lovely people and there was an acceptance of different belief systems except Christianity! There seemed to be an intellectual snobbery which delegated those who believed in the cross etc to a lower form of intellect. A great deal of those I was going to church with were Atheists and that was who the crux of the services were geared to. The word "prayer" was never used. Hey, "Deeds not creeds"! I'm reading some Unity material these days and checked out a service to see if they are wackos or not, I was pleasantly surprised. Unity considers itself Christian but interpret scripture etc in a very different way then the mainstream Christian churches do. Much of their stuff I find similar to my own views.I have a few relatives who are/were Unity. We'll see, they are very small in number in Canada. Thanks for your thoughts!
