CW - I like GAG's idea about making the aquarium family fun, naming the fish and all...first and foremost it would be a nice family bonding thing for you and you kids and it would be a reminder to your H as to how much of the family life he is missing.

And that was clever of you to give H the change of address card. Time for them to take care of these things and not to rely on us...we are not their mothers. I finally sent an email to my H to please change his phone number with his dentist because yesterday I got yet another appointment reminder call...enough already.

(((hugs)))

Hi GAG and Mila! Thanks for stopping by! I was on here last night reading threads and didn't even bother checking my own! lol!

Mila, nickel to SA for the idea of the COA card! And, I agree with you on the "enough already"!!!

GAG! I am picturing the fish with little birthday hats...OR...did you mean that the kids and I would be wearing them? LOL! Great ideas guys...thanks!

H was here yesterday to p/up S15 to go get a back seat for his car. He got here before S15 did (I didn't know what time he was coming so my hair was not done but I was dressed and smelling good!) He was very business like this time. No joking or anything.

He has grown a patch/strip/stripe? of hair on his chin and was wearing contacts. He used to wear a goatee and I always liked that on him but this was weird for him!

He did say "the kids said you got a different fish" so we went and looked at them. He didn't say much...usually has all kinds of "advice".

S15 was ready and I gave him his pile of mail, including the junk mail he left the last time he was here. He glanced thru it and gave me back his W-2 saying I would need that for taxes...so guess that is up to me to do again this year! He didn't say anything about the COA card (I had actually forgotten that I had put that in his pile!)

My L came into the salon on Friday...said she has not heard back from H's L yet on the meeting they wannted to have about the property settlement...

Have spent the weekend working on D12's science fair project! S15 and I went and got an oil filter and oil for my vehicle and this will be his first attempt at doing this by himself!!!

The weather is beautiful around here...supposed to get up into the 50's today! Hope everyone has a great day!

Just an update.

On Valentine's Day, I treated myself to a massage and a Hershey's bar! The kids and I made homemaed pizza.

Got home from work today to a message from the L's office looking for dates to set up a time for the settlement meeting.

I hate to admit this...but had a little "expectation" that because I hadn't heard anything right away...well, you know what I was hoping for! Dangit!

On a side note.... S15 changed the oil in my vehicle successfully! He wanted to call H as he couldn't find the oil filter. I promptly laid down on the rolly thingy (I think it is called a creeper) and got under the vehicle and found the filter and he finished the job without calling H. Woohoo!!!!

It's all good...it was just a little one... smile

You naughty girl! What did you think we would think? A little Oil Filter, or a little massage or little Hershey bar?

Or am I the one being thinking naughty. Naw, couldn't be. Not me.

What is it with all this innuendo on my thread? Awhile back, I had to start referring to wood as "heating material"!!! laugh

So, today...I did something that I have never done before! I went to a movie BY MYSELF! It was "Just Go With It" with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston! Very funny movie btw!

At first, I was fine with going alone! I have seen people do that...no biggie! Then, couples starting filling in...the "LOSER" feeling set in...then, I found myself trying to laugh as quietly as possible during some really funny scenes as LOL by yourself at a movie felt weird! Anyway, I am proud of myself for going by myself as that is something I would not have done before!

Hey CW,

Why is it that we find your thread so titillating? confused confused confused I'm thinkin' it's those subliminal messages you're sending with your word choices. wink You should channel that to your advantage with H. wink

Good for you going to a movie by yourself! I'm very proud of you! (and thanks for the movie recommendation BTW). I find that it's easier to go alone to any show before the 7pm show because there are a lot fewer couples. If my schedule allows it, I go to a matinee. I always feel as though I am "skipping school" when I do this and it feels extra special.......and it's cheaper too.........FWIW, when I'm alone at a movie I don't feel like a loser and I don't think you should either. I've been to enough movies with male friends or guys that I didn't want to be on a date with so that I don't assume that being part of a couple in the theater is a big romantic thing.

I'm very sorry about this development. It seems as though a lot of folks in this forum are dealing with this kind of stuff these days. Let H do the work but stick up for what you and your children for your futures. Keep us posted about these developments, OK?

BTW, how are the "shark twins"????????

The shark twins are still with us! Thanks for asking!

On the movie...I did go to the 4:40pm movie so there wasn't a whole lot of people! Matinees are the best cause they are not as busy! The "loser" feelings were all in my head...I know!

Just had a unexpected visit from one of H's (and mine) old friend.

He was in our wedding. He is a brother to H's sister's H. Still w/me? A few years ago, he had a brain stroke. Left him with his left side almost useless. He can walk with a cane but with great difficulty. The first time H left ( and came back) and during SS's wedding and before his stroke, he told me that I was too good for H and that he didn't treat me the way he should etc. I just kinda blew it off...he used to drink pretty heavily and I never really knew how to take him...if he was joking, serious or just trying to stir something up.

Anyway, this is the first time that I have seen him since H left AGAIN!. His second oldset son and GF brought him here to the bar to eat and he wanted to stop by and say hi. His son and GF came to the door and had me come out (easier than getting him in the wheelchair). Gave him a hug and we chatted for a little bit and then I was getting cold so told them to let me know the next time they came this way to eat and we'd meet them!

He didn't say anything about our sitch...just asked how we were doing and told me I looked good and we joked etc. His wife left him when his youngest was just a baby. His oldest had MD and died a few months before he had his brain stroke. He had custody of the boys the whole time. Before his stroke, when H and I went on our road trips and went to his town, we always had to stop by and visit!

Just brought back some memories! You know, he was in the nursing home a couple of miles away for awhile and we never went to see him. I always thought H didn't want to cause it was hard to see your friend that way. A good friend would not have let that stand in the way don't you think?

I am glad that they stopped to say hello. .

CW,

Long-term friendships are treasures. It is a wonderful gift to have friends that you can pick up with easily even if you haven't seen them for months or years. It sounds as though your friend's challenges in life have given him the freedom to "speak the truth" as he sees it.

I'm glad that you had a nice visit.

GAG
