So tonight is parent teacher conferences. If you guys recall I did all of them by myself for all 4 kids last time due to ex's timing of his honeymoon(he knows the schedule so this was not some little oversight on his part). They also have them tomorrow night. I told ex that they were his to do this time since I did them by myself last time.
He thinks he can do them all in a 2 hour window tomorrow night. Yes 4 kids at 3 different schools. Now can you see the mentality of the guy that I had to deal with?? While I only have real concerns about my 9th grader, I think it is important to make an effort for all of the kids. Our youngest has her time blocked for tomorrow night so that is set in stone but the rest you have to run around to.
Any thoughts?

We have usually split them so we don't both go to everyone. This was the case even when we were married. It is an awesome task to do now that all but one child has so many teachers.
I know I am the parent, never any doubt in my mind. Ex even said he planned on taking care of them since he didn't meet anyone last time. So not as much a payback as it may sound. I can't get off early like last time since my boss is out of town. Just thinking more "out loud" I guess.

Why is this your problem? He's the one who's going to have to run around and meet everyone. He is the one who won't be able to get it done in two hours. So he'll run over. Sounds like his problem.
I don't see that there is anything you can or should do.

I think I am fixing it in a way. Bad Kat!! I am their parent I get that. I have never not taken part in their accomplishements, performances, activities or conferences to some degree. I was going to just go to three of them, the 2 classes that S15 is having trouble in and D10's but then felt like I should at least talk to a couple of S18 and D12's teachers even though the oldest and the girls are getting straight A's.
When I spoke with S18 he said Dad thought the conferences were Thursday and Friday though I reminded him last week that they were Wednesday night and all day Thursday. S18 did the same. I am not his keeper and I will just go with my shortened plan. Today has just blown up in my face and I haven't gotten anything done that I originally was trying to get accomplished.

I hear you kat, it's not easy to schedule your life around these kids' conferences especially if your work is not flexible. And in this economy who needs to paint a target on yourself by taking too much time off work.
But in the grand scheme of things this isn't the end of the world and you'll figure it out.

So I just got home. No dinner yet, so my day is still crazy. D12 is doing great as is s18. S15 is doing fine in all but 2 classes. I spoke to three teachers for each and tomorrow is d10's.

I was so exhausted that I fell asleep without having dinner! The day was just crazy and work didn't go according to plan. That happens sometimes, just not when I have parent teacher conferences and usually not when I am in the office by myself. I ache like crazy today and am plain exhausted.
Tonight I have D10's conference. I told her I would go and then I am going straight home and chilling.
