SA, I'd go ahead and move forward w/your D. You'll have an opportunity a bit later to express your feelings to him. Right now, what you have to say will go in one ear and out of the other. Once the D is finalized, give the man about 6-9 months to really experience that "high" of freedom and once that has settled down, the door of opportunity will open and then you will have your opportunity.
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
