I Like Mine With Butter...please!

Well, I started with gold lame', but had to change as the reflection was blinding passing drivers while I mowed. Switched to a more somber zebra print pantsuit.

I would surely love to see a picture of this punkin!!!




Yesterday, when I got home from work, the kids and I went out and found more split wood under the snow and brought it in. S15 tried starting the splitter but could not...jumper cables are in the truck which H has atm....S15 called and left a message for H about the furnace and not being able to get the splitter going. I DID NOT KNOW that S15 did this until after. About 4 hrs later, H tried calling but we were not home...he did not leave a message. He called again this morning and talked to D12. He asked her if we needed him to come split wood and she said yes.

Well, I decided to not be here...D12 kinda pushed for me to leave. I told her that I needed to go clean the shop but should stay and help since S15 had pulled an all-nighter with the scouts. She said "Mom, it only takes 2 people to run the splitter...I can help Dad, go clean!" I went with that as my sign to not be here. I think she wanted some alone time with Dad.

There is only one road out of town so I did meet H on the way. He turned his head looking as we passed each other...I did a simple smile and wave. I am wondering if he was thinking " WTH are you going when I am coming to split wood for you?"

Cleaned the shop and D12 called. "Dad was here, cleaned the aquarium" (we just noticed that the big sucker fish died...all that was left of him was bones..the cat fish had a feast apparently). I know nothing about aquariums, he did all of that. He told D12 he'd buy another sucker fish and to keep an eye on the water that the filter is doing it's job. He looked at the furnace and tried the reset and said I need to call someone. They split wood.

As she was talking, call waiting beeped and it was H...he basically told me everything he told her...said he would show me how to do the filter and would get some more charcoal etc and a new fish. (I had told D12 that when the catfish died, we were done with it.) Told me about the furnace. He checked it, tried the reset button and it still didn't work. Told me to not let them sell me a new furnace (really? he is the one that gets talked into stuff!) He left the jumper cables in the garage. I told him thankyou, that I appreciated him coming to take a look at it and split wood...he seemed a little uncomfortable with me saying that. Said "well... I just wanted to take a look at it (the furnace). I said thankyou again and he said "alright...pause...alright" and we hung up...and then I cried. Yeah...more detachment necessary!

Then, I get home, and found that he had also written a note about the furnace!!!!

I guess he does seem to care a little.

I did have the house smelling really good! A friend (thanks SA!)gave me her recipe for homemade spaghetti sauce so I had that simmering in the crock pot!
