Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes! Today started out with going over to wife's place to open presents with her and the kids. It was a nice morning. Afterwards we packed up the left overs from last night meal and drove over to Mom's to pick her up and drop off the food. We went to the hospital to see my Dad who was resting. Apparently, yesterday he did have a mild heart attack. He was in good spirits and opened his presents with all of us. We each took turns sitting with him and talking for a bit. I told him that I was just remembering something a friend had said to me "Whatis, I envy you. You and your Dad are friends, I was never friends with my Dad" Dad replied "We have a very special relationship". So my girls spent time with him individually and they cried their little hearts out while he held them each. He told them that he was going to try his hardest to get better and be around for a while longer but if this was the time he was to go then he would accept it. He also sat with my wife and they had a nice talk too. After that we all went back to Mom's to eat wife's leftovers for Christmas dinner and they fed all eight of us. Later Mom, brother and I drove back to the hospital to see Dad again and the girls phoned him to say goodnight.
It was a good day and we made it the best we could for all involved. The last thing Dad said to me is "I'm gonna keep fighting, son. Don't you worry" and I replied "I'm not worried, I know you will and if things go well, maybe you'll be celebrating Christmas with all of us again next year"
