Just wanted to focus in on your words, from someone that has been through this, and would be 98% there (the 2% being the days that I feel for the kids, but not for me).

Fake it until you make it - I always remember you saying about striking up conversations in the supermarket checkout,(reading and greeting the persons name tag) or anywhere else . I used to have a game, getting people to say "hello" and smiling back at me, particularly hard for me living in a country where I cannot speak the language but........feedback comments I get are ...."cute English man";"everyone loves you" .....and I dont just hear these comments - I feel them as well. When I had my procedure ealier in the year, I had calls from around the world, my colleague said she felt like Miss Moneypenny taking all the calls.
It is so true that what you give, you receive back 10 fold.
