Glad to hear your father is out of emergency. That [censored] about the staffing there being rude. Definitely write up a complaint so that others won't experience the same treatment in the future (hopefully).
I am happy to hear your dad has maintained his sense of humor through this.
The ER was a nightmare for Ryan during his recent crisis too. If I had been left at their mercy - they would not have put him on the ventilator. They would have let him die. THey told me they didn't think he had a great quality of life. I could NOT believe it. And I WILL be writing a letter about it.
But the ICU staff were wonderful and made up for all of it. Trouble was - sending him home so soon after he came off the ventilator. BUT - with the excellent care we provided - he is doing wonderful. But maybe that's a miracle.
Well today is Christmas shopping with the girls, I've figured it all out. I dropped them at the mall, burnt rubber out of the parking lot and went to a coffee shop to read the paper and have a coffee..."call me when you're finished!" as I drove away! While driving to the coffee shop i heard a really good Christmas idea commercial. Apparently, if you buy your wife a Kia Rondo she will break into tears and gurgle how much she loves you on Christmas morning! Wow, how can you miss (unless you don't have a wife). Unfortunately, Kia doesn't mention the other possiblities: 1) she accuses you of cheating on her otherwise you wouldn't have bought her a car 2) she rips you a new one for spending so much family money without conferring with her 3) she sits stunned wondering how she will fit all the warranty claim visits into her already hectic schedule. It ain't all roses, Kia!
Now for the ladies, apparently if you give us guys a coffee shop gift card (and a mug) we wet our pants with excitement...sadly, that one's probably true. combine that with the new Trojan Fire and Ice condoms and when you're not in the mood we have something to chew on for an intense taste experience. I've gotta stay away from TV! Well, I hope I've helped you with any Christmas shopping decisions you have to yet make. Now, what to get my turtle. I was thinking a little flush toilet might be cool.
The girls and I are just going out the door to visit him now. The hospital put a port in his arm and are feeding him who knows what either hoping to dislodge the blockage and/or build up his stamina for surgery. We'll find out what their plans are Monday. Later Dbers.
Thanks Sandi! Dad remains in good spirits and his strength certainly seems to be returning. Again, they'll see how he does over the weekend and decide the course of treatment on Monday. So the girls and I visited with him for an hour or so and then drove down to my Mom's to help her decorate the house for Christmas. We're home now after another busy day.
Hey wii, I feel like I've been gone from here forever. Just got caught up on your dad's sitch. Sorry it all took place but glad to hear he's doing better. Hope it's all good news from here on out.
Are you planning to celebrate xmas with STBXW?

I'll probably go over Christmas morning and open presents with her and the kids. After that, who knows. It depends on where my Dad is and right now it's looking like the hospital. Today was to be my day of rest. I'd planned to go to church and then after wards spend a couple of hours watching the Giant-Eagle game but, who'd of guessed, I spent the afternoon running around like a maniac and doing chores. I was in time to catch the last play of the game which I could have gladly missed! It's amazing how my plans always seem to end up going down the toilet for "I need this" "Daddy, I forgot this" "I lost my cell phone"...you know the routine. I did lose it today and started slamming things around in the kitchen and cursing my life, D16 did the wise thing and went for a shower. Hey, at least the Pastor this morning told the congregation that he finds it hard to feel joy at Christmas. He said that at least this year he put up a tree...because someone gave it to him and the lights were already on it! Wow, a Pastor who is bummed out at Christmas...I really like this guy! Tonight, I'm gonna go listen to him at the evening service, can't wait to hear what he shares next. Maybe we'll sing "I Wish You A Merry Wrist Slashing" Who knows what merry thoughts he plans to share with us tonight.
