Seeking,

I understand your question. I understand you would not be asking for anything other than a brief 'loan'. I cannot find any fault with that. In that respect, I would say you do as you feel best. I, of course, do not know the situation intimately, as you do.

2nd course-and this may just be spunky punkin talking-If there was any other way, anyone else to ask, even a bank for a small, short term loan through the holidays, I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of asking. Of being able to tell me No. Of saying yes, and feeling all warm and cuddly inside like he's Santa or your Savior or something.

Me personally, and again, this is just me, I'd rather take a side job on a street corner before asking my H for help.

Bottom line. You know him; who he is (was) and how he should react. I guess you have to follow your own best instincts.

Sorry, not much help, but that's my gut instinct. ((HUGS))

seeking, it might be a good time to put into place some other type of Christmas giving. Consider gifts of special activities together or certificates for something that will be coming up that you can get later when the event arrives. Sorta like layaway but something to look forward to?

When I was a kid money was really tight, one of my best ever Christmas memories was when all of us kids took some of our own things and regifted it to our siblings. It was really cool as a kid to give something of my own and decide who would like to have it.

Hi Everyone, thanks for stopping by!

WCW, sorry I didn't respond before this but I didn't see that you had posted. I like your activity certificate idea. I could get really creative with that!

No real news to share Punkin. I've decided not to ask my H for anything and muddle through. My kids are banding together. The older ones are grateful to me for holding it together (house and such) and told me that was Christmas present enough for them from me. The youngest, well, we'll all make sure it's special for her. They are good kids!

Mila, trying to get some baking and shopping done. I'm always checking in here, keeping up with everybody. Sometimes I don't post because I don't feel I have anything of value to add.

You know, when I was a kid we didn't have a whole lot. It sure didn't take much to please me at Christmas. When I grew up and married H, he made Christmas super special. I was spoiled rotten. You know what? I've gone back to my roots. Christmas isn't about the things anymore. One of the lessons I've learned from this is to take nothing for granted, and to cherish my blessings.

(((Hugs))) and thank you all for checking in!
