Well his first response was unexpected. I expected the silent pouting treatment. Instead he asked me last night via text if I was taking Nathan to open gym. I had mentioned on Saturday after the game that I would be taking him to open gym times at the Y to practice since they are on a 3 week break in his league.
So anyway he asked if I was taking Nathan and I said yes. Because regardless of Dan I do think Nathan needs to keep practicing. So then he comes to the open gym time?? Carrying brand new basketball shoes, no less. I said, "Nice shoes." He says, "Yeah well the shoelace broke on my old ones." That just cracked me up. If you want new shoes, buy them, no need to make excuses!
So he came over to the court where I was practicing with Nathan and started practicing with us. Asking me to do some different things and we all three worked on drills together while Sydney played on the other side of the court (nobody else was there). Finally Sydney was fussing so I went and played with her for about 15 minutes--and rediscovered that I can still do cartwheels!
Then I went back over and we played together again, all together for about an hour and ten minutes. Then the kids and I left and I suppose he left too, we didn't wait around to see...
As far as my dating life, I am still talking to HG, but we haven't gone out since the weekend before this, we are on opposite kid schedules...but I definitely want to see him and I am pretty sure he feels the same way.
For example he texted me Friday to see what I was up to. I was at the Nutcracker. On the way home I was telling him how it went and mentioned I danced for 15 years so I love watching good dancing. He replied something about, "I hope I never get you out on the dancefloor then, I can't dance!"
Then he asked how my Christmas prep was going, I said I had everything bought and wrapped. He said, "Good, then you can help me if I ever get started. j/k " I told him no problem I love shopping and wrapping...
He is definitely loosening up which I like. He has been nothing but a gentleman and I really respect that but I am used to being able to tease, too, so it's good that he is lightening up there...
