In Ontario we pay $75 for ambulance to the ER. Well worth it in a true emergency. I believe they should charge much higher if it is deemed a "non emergency situation".

I hear it costs you even less if you're dead when they arrive!

Oh they could easily expect to be paid from your estate!
But there have been times when Ryan was very ill and taken by ambulance & I received no bill. So far I have not received one from last month's traumatic journey. We shall see. I'd pay 100 times that amount now since they saved is life.
Well, yea, you are dead!! You don't have any money anymore silly! How are you feeling? Have you been having ice cream without me?

Hi Kat! I'm fine, just a little tired tonight after a pretty busy weekend. Yesterday I went to my D13's gymnastics meet where she performed...well, not as she would have liked to. But, in my books, the fact that she gets up in front of a crowd of strangers and three judges, who mark her every error, and performs her routines makes her a winner before the scoring even starts! She has two more qualifiers and if she does well could go on to the Provincial Championships. We'll see, yesterday was hopefully a blip. Afterwards, I dropped the girls at their Mom's and went to a friends for dinner. Each Christmas a bunch of us who went to University together get together. A fun night. Tonight I'm off to one of the churches I'm sampling for a group "Pace To Grace". We discuss one virtue per week. Anyway, I'm keeping busy and trying to keep my head from worrying about my Dad. And I did have ice cream last night. Gotta go.
When will Whatis learn that when the weather is bad everybody else stays home! Apparently, I'm the only idiot braving the weather to go to church groups. Live and learn...nah, I probably won't!
Please keep my Dad in your thoughts and prayers as he was hospitalized last night. We hope that the tests they will do will find the cause of the difficulties he's been having lately. Thanks.
Prayers on the way Wii. Sometimes hospitalization is the most comforting thing since your dad will be surrounded by people who are there for no other reason than to help him.
Prayers for you too buddy. The stress of having your father in the hospital with no answers as to what is wrong will take a toll on you. Take care of yourself too!

Wii: I'm sorry your dad is in the hospital. I DO hope they get to the bottom of the problems. Sometimes a hospital stay is the way to go as you have so many drs investigating different possibilities.
In a way it is a relief, as I told my Mom, when he's in hospital they HAVE to deal with him. This is how his cancer was found a few years ago, originally they kept sending him home and calling it "flu". Finally, when they hospitalized him they found he had cancer. So, they'll do X-rays and who knows what else and hopefully find how to help him. I know that Hiatus Hernia can cause vomiting but if it is happening numerous times a day despite eating small meals and following the guidelines etc then something else needs to happen. He also has a heart condition and I wonder how much puking the heart can take over time. The pills for his hernia just seem to make him sicker! It's a blessing that my brother is on vacation the next few weeks and has his car on the road. He's a great guy and one loyal son. He took them to the hospital at 1:30 am yesterday and will go with Mom today to see what's happening. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers folks. I'll keep you posted.
