Just to add to the above, I remember when I told my family that I had been diagnosed with Diabetes. I told them that I would do whatever it took to reverse this and nobody needed to feel sorry for me. Youngest D, who was about seven then, said "if my Daddy says he will beat it, then he will. 'Cuz my Daddy's a winner!" You remember those moments.
