Change your privacy setting so that no one that isn't a friend, or a friend of a friend can see you.
They hide it.... Go to Account->Privacy Settings Up at the top it says "Connecting on Facebook" You can choose a few different things there, from who can see you in a search, who can send you messages, etc.
