You know, maybe once someone turns 60, the 10 year range up or down gets trickier. Let's face it--70 year olds are mostly, well, OLD. Buff or not. 65 is 5 years way from 70! Ok I hope that wasn't too mean.
The strawberries part of the article was awesome- I think when we decide to go on dates with people, that is like picking strawberries! ANd if we decide to go for it and sleep with them it is picking strawberries, too! As well as if we decide to take a chance and go to some kind of event we wouldn't normally go to...

I will write to a woman that is probably "out of my league" on occasion, if there are similar interests, and she sounds fun. And if her age range is at least close to me. And close means maybe no more than a year or two off. I know the chances are that they won't be interested, but you never know.
On the other hand, I can't imagine telling someone that I am writing to how little success I am having. What's that about? Looking for sympathy? I can't figure any way that that is attractive!
wait a minute...I just watched a recorded Oprah show and Geraldo is 67! Holy crap- he looks at least 10 years younger! But he was married 4 times...cheated on all of his former wives...and now says he thinks he has found the woman who completes him. (yeah because he knows he has limited time left on this earth so his party days are over)

The match thing is going down hill fast for me. I am just not that into it. I guess I have better things to do right now. I was talking to a couple of nice women but I let them both fizzle out. Maybe I will take a cooking class or something!

better yet, violin- take a cake decorating class! There were women galore when I took one!
I hear you on the match thing. It is not fun, is it? i just updated my profile so hopefully it will elicit some responses but I have to go fishing, too!
But Violin, I saw your pic on FB and you are an attractive guy, so what is the problem? What age range are you seeking and are you winking/emailing other divorced women? Or are they seeking more children? Did you post your salary? Don't ever do that!

I don't know what the problem is! Maybe I should post a bicep picture?? But yeah, Match is not that fun at all:( I was talking to someone who I will call artsy_37 and she mentioned going to see the blue man group. I have always wanted to see them too and they were in town this weekend. I almost choked when I saw the price of a ticket for them! $260 was the cheapest I saw! OMG This woman has crazy taste for a first date!
I am winking but that has not really worked yet. I have emailed atleast 15 people but have not really clicked with anyone. Maybe I am too picky now? I feel old fashioned being on there. I want to meet someone like I did in highschool or college, friend of a friend. Cake decorating is a great idea! Where did you take your class newmama?
Thanks for the nice compliment too.

I mostly ignore winks. I figure if a guy is REALLY interested in me, he'll write an email.
Plus, you can wink if you haven't paid for Match, so I figure some of the guys winking are too cheap to join!
I have to say, I am seeing a somewhat younger hipper crowd on OKCupid, I don't know if the same holds true for the women, but it is a free site and you might check it out.
Yes, it would be great to just meet someone the traditional way - and since you have kids, you might meet single moms at school events etc. But I do think the online thing gives you an ability to screen for certain things that can be useful too. (Education, for instance , in my case - I need a really smart guy, and even if a guy doesn't have an advanced formal education, if he's really smart, it usually shows in his profile).
Yep, I admit it, I screened by IQ, I was engaged a year later :-) But, Tickle/Emode is no more. They had a ton of psychological tests you could take and share, great for geeks!
