Don't think/read too much into the ILY. Could have been genuine, could have been guilt, could have been to string you along so you will him favors in the future, could be none of the above.

I would be suspicious of his motives if he is still seiing OW. So take care of yourself and don't put a whole of stock into what he said tonight.
