Exhausting is a good word. You're right as soon as you think you're back on a fairly steady course, something new pops up to deal with.
I believe I will be able to handle it all, but I'll be living paycheck to paycheck for a while. It is in my best interest at this point not to rock the boat until after Dec. That is when some new D laws go into effect in my state.
Not saying I'm going to file, but it would be advantageous to me if H is going to file to hold him off until after that.
My state has changed its D laws. Now instead of waiting out a year with a legal separation before you can D, it's now a no fault state. With that change came a couple of amendments. One concerning alimony. Before it was up to a judge whether alimony was granted, now if a spouse makes a third of the other spouse's salary it is automatically granted. The other law that goes into effect is that regardless of which spouse files, the one that makes the most money will have to pay both lawyer's fees.
Today is 'Opening Day' of deer hunting season in my state. My H was passionate about hunting, especially when our sons were old enough to go out with him.
As I watch S23 getting ready to hit the woods, I can't help but feel sorry for both sons and H. This is just another event that they won't be sharing and that H is missing out on.
Since H has been in MLC his passion for hunting has disappeared along with his passion for me.
