There IS one other viable explanation for this, and it's like what Saddam did with his WMDs. I mean, he KNEW we weren't bluffing, and yet ACTED AS IF HE HAD THEM. Megalogmaniacs (and wayards) are funny that way, lol.
So, your wife -- KNOWING you can see her phone records -- tries to "bait" you, by calling an attorney. So she wants to see if you'll get all accusatory, and "go nuts" on her, and she can say "See? THIS is why I can't be with you -- you're controlling, and jealous, and paranoid, and THIS ISN'T GOING TO WORK OUT!"
I say, don't take the bait. Completely ignore the knowledge, and proceed with whatever plan you were going to do if she continued contact with OM (which of course, she is). Only difference is, I'd politely bag out of any planned "dates" with her.
But that's just me. I'd be interested to see what the vets say.
