STBXW doesn't want to be married to me ... this is what she tells the girls every chance she gets ... but she doesn't seem to want to wrap up the D either. I don't know if it's money or control.

I see this time and time again with the WAS'. What is up with that??? Like they don't want to be married but want to drag things out as long as possible. It's so ridiculous. Anyone care to shrink that???

Your basketball thing sounds fun. And I think it was a good piont someone made on people who will dated separated folks but there are good poitns to all of it. Glad you got our ring back. If it was just a weddingthat you bought for her, taht'd be different but it was your grammy's so that makes a BIG difference. Gosh writing on DB is so annoying--it's taking forever for the words to spell out Anyone else?

Ann Coulter scares me too. She is certifiable. My friend calls her "Mann Coulter." He thinks she is a tranny in disguise smile

Another poster made a good point that I should have posted. It's probably more likely an issue of her attorney. She hired perhaps the worst attorney in town. He has a reputation for being lazy, not filing anything, running up fees.

It's too the point I'm frustrated because he isn't doing anything and he has to be "reminded" time and again about things that have already been decided.

Family heirloom. Those are generally an exception to the 'gift' rule.

I can see how that would change things.

Good thing I have no heirlooms to squabble over eh?

CTH, Never said anything about Tea Party "candidates". Please do not put words in my mouth. I was talking about Tea Party voters. Please re-read what I posted.

As far as dating is concerned, yes it can be dangerous if you go about it to fill a void. But as long as you dont make it too seriouse and the other person. understands that you are on the rebound then it should be OK. It's great for the ego.

Dating has been critical in showing me that I have value as a man and that women see my value. After being treated basically like crap by my XW for years my self esteem was in the pits. I now realize that she was the one with the problem, not me.

She is the problem child and I am the prize. I see that clearly now. Her loss. And some other womans gain some day if I ever heal enough to decide to commit again. For right now I am just having fun and looking over my options.

Yep. Life is too darn short to be sitting around wishing for someone to come back to you.

OK, thread is now politics free again.

Crazy day. Wii would slap me around.

Had to ferry kids, here, there, everywhere. Then, before I was leaving for the night, we got breaking news that I had to cover.

So D8 is running around at the paper. D11 is at church. I got it all done so I have a couple of minutes to breathe.

Then I'll pick them up, take them home, get them to bed ... then hook up the washer and drier. I am seriously running out of clothes and need to get some stuff cleaned for tomorrow.

Tomorrow? Haircut ... more work. The weekend is going to be crazy too. Next week I plan on relaxing ... really.

Relaxing? Really? Do you know the meaning of the word? LOL! grin

Seriously though, I hope you do get some down time and time to organize your new home. That is so exciting.

All dressed up and no place to go. First thing this morning Match_35 sent me a text saying that her nephew from Milwaukee is coming in tonight to stay for the weekend so can she get a rain check?

I responded that we could just push it to next Thursday. She replied that she needed to look at her schedule and let me know -- if that's OK. I said that's fine. Let me know some nights that work out and we'll try again.

I'm wondering if I should call in the next couple of days. We still haven't actually talked on the phone.

I'm a little down, but I'm also a little relieved. It's been a seriously crazy week and I'm hoping next is a little better.

It also though reminds me how much more difficult dating is going to be compared to the family-free days in my 20s.

Now you have to juggle work, family and dating with someone who most likely has a wacky family schedule as well.

It certainly isn't going to be easy.

I think I made a good decision on asking a coworker's daughter to clean the old apartment. I stopped by this morning and it's spotless -- absolutely spotless. That was $100 well spent.

I'm hoping to get $400 to $500 back from my security deposit. That, the running race next weekend (one that wasn't on my schedule, it's a bonus though it may be realllllllyyyyy cold) and the fact that December is a three paycheck month means I should be good financially through Christmas.

Nah, don't call Match_35. She has already let you know she'll get back to you. Leave it at that.

Don't feel down. It's one day closer to Friday!

How far is the race you are running? Are you training for it?

Sol, it's not a race I run. It's a race I work at. When STBXW and I separated in 2009 I talked to a co-worker who has been working for this company in Skokie, Ill. since college. They put up tents, barricades, clocks, podiums, pretty much everything you need to hold a running race or triathlon.

You go in the day before the race and put up the tents and drop the barricades. Then, before the race you set everything up. They run the race and then you break everything down and throw it back on the trucks.

Beginners get $350 a weekend before taxes. I worked 10 last year and I've done eight this year. We got an email from the company asking if anyone wanted to work the Hot Chocolate 15k in Chicago.

Me and three others are going to do it. They put you up in a hotel -- usually a Best Western or something cheap -- and give you a per diem. It's a nice setup, although it cuts back on GALing time.

Pretty much from March through October I'm working one weekend and have the kids for two leaving one free.

I need the money and you stay in shape doing it.
