John,

I don't want to bust your stones, but your last post has dependency written all over it! By calling your new lady friend and allowing her to come over...don't you have a choice in the matter. An example of pulling away...I went out with this one lady a week ago who started acting all clingy making plans for future dates and wanting my phone number...guess what I did? I made MY choice. I think I could have outrun Carl Lewis that night!

ehh, it ain't that bad. In general, I'd say the younger folks have the "more interesting" stories.

Officer In Need, Knight In Need--the in need twins had some real drama.

Which reminds me of a Chinese curse: "May your life be more interesting".

My friend's W when they both were 25 jumped out of a moving car because he did not want to take her shopping. She broke her collarbone and got all brused up. He left her on the side of the road.

Later he decided to follow the ambulance and they ended up ML on the hospital bed.

crazy

Hmm. Can't say that's a place I've marked off on my list of "hotspots" yet.

NOW is the time to use the "prince charming" speech.

"I have been doing some thinking (lol)
and you are right about being friends.
We are getting along alot better... lalala
I am starting to figure things out about myself and what I should have been doing all these years... lalala
YOU were RIGHT this separation was exactly what we needed"

I loved the part about selling the golf clubs and needing someone to take care of you.

Buys you more time. Remember friends don't let friends live this way....

being friends with your ex has benefits.

I wouldn't take stock in a single thing someone says who tells your dating is weak and codependent.
You will be suprised as how important this will be in the coming months.

Steve, do you always find women attractive who are ready to mother you after 3 or 4 dates?

Or is there a deeper mesaage in this riddle?

Hmm. I remember you describing the dating pool as full of tired, mentally maladjusted, gold-digging women. Now John is more fortunate than I to be a lot younger...

If you notice your are drawing your wife closer with your distance, you can easily repel her with codependency and passive-aggression behavior. Remember that. Continue to buy yourself time until she is ready to tell you what you need to hear and she has matured to be in relationship.
