You're not alone with it Wii. I've been of that same opinion for a long time too. It's a different learning curve for everyone, I just hope that he doesn't get himself hurt or hurt someone else in the process.

Then she asked if I've had any luck with dating? She said she gets a lot of attention and dates, but all of the men she's dated are only looking for one thing and she's not willing to give it them.
So ladies, break that one down, please.
Sounds like she hasn't met anyone yet who seemed to be interested in her beyond the bedroom. It happens.
Just ask her out on a date and see what she says. Ask her if she'd like to grab a bite to eat sometime.
As Mish said, it's a different learning curve for everyone. I feel really the M ended in January of 2007. That's when, for whatever reason, STBXW just shut the door on me.
I hear the concerns of Wii, Awest and Mishka, but at some point I have to turn the page. I just want to get out there and start meeting people. If I wait for STBXW to finish the D, it could be another year with the attorney she has.
I guess I feel I've waited long enough on STBXW's time line. It's time to do things on my own time line.
Who knows, I may go, have a horrible time, pine for STBXW and shut things down for a while. I think BBJ kind of did that.
I'm looking at this as another milestone -- an actual date, the first post-STBXW, not just a friend thing. There has to be a first at some point.
Not much to report today. Still MORE little things to grab at the apartment, but I'll have D8 tonight because D11 has to be at school at 6:50 a.m.??? tomorrow morning, probably for band.
I hate moving.

Officially, the M ends when the D is done. Start playing with the timing for that and you risk the same folly as the WAS.
Not what you want to hear, I am sure. But there it is. You're free to do as you like, as are we all, but let's not mince words. You've shown a lot of character to date, CTH, and we know what you're going through, me especially, but I suggest you consider everything again more carefully, just to be sure. This is a time when we could all use the advice of an older, wiser mentor of sorts, an older sibling or some friend of good character or even a clergy member. (Too bad we don't usually get such counsel these days. Those who do are truly blessed.)

OK, you answered, now you're fair game! Now, you didn't "feel" the marriage was over, you believed it was over. "The end" of something does not mean feelings are now null and void just because the practical aspect of that R has ended. I do agree with you about getting out and meeting people and being active as it's an important part of healing but you've been doing that! You don't need to date to do that. You have your church and it's groups, your sports leagues etc that you're involved in. You've got a life and I just believe you're pushing yourself too hard to date at a time that seems inappropriate to me. You want to be validated by a woman, nothing wrong with feeling that (been there, done it!)BUT putting your energy into seeking that so that you can bury what you feel regarding the divorce is not the way to go. Yes, everyone does have their own learning curve but that means variance in learning not a totally distinct learning experience from everyone else. You're pushing yourself too hard. Btw, NoCode has a good point, meet with your Pastor and share your story and your grief (unless it's a she and she's single! ). Trust the Lord to work in your life for a bit, give yourself a rest. It's not the easy way (I think pushing is the easy way for you) but in the long run may be the better way. I'm done...again!
There are a bunch of people with a 1st grader understanding of why the "Boston Tea Party" happened (they think it was all about taxes... period, and they hate taxes--real deep understanding of history there) that have grouped together in antipathy of all things Government because they believe Government cannot Govern, so they'd like to Govern
Paradoxes and pure entertainment.
OK I cant let this one go. Your broad generalization is completely dissrespectful and shows your lack of knowledge about what the Tea Party is about. I suggest you look beyond CNN and liberal blogs for your info.
It's not just about over taxation. It's about restoring liberties that big progressive government has taken away.
And FYI, Tea Party members are not just conservatives, they are libertarians and even some liberals. Get your facts staight.
But I digress, this is not the place for politics.

Heh. I never uttered the word "conservative" in the post.
Rather, I whimsically pointed out how the original Boston Tea Party--which is why the name/acronymn was chosen--if you dig into the actual background (as opposed to what is commonly understood) bears no resemblence whatsoever to this movement.
BTW, and I think it's disingenous to say this movment isn't about Taxes when they chose the name "Taxed Enough Already".
As for cable news, don't watch it. As for "liberal" blogs, never even purused one.
Have a nice day

But you are wrong. It's about taxation withought representation so it is very much so in resemblance historically.
It's not about being taxed, it's that our taxes are used pretty much how they want to use them i.e. bailouts, etitlements and a screwed up health care system that will be unsustainable etc etc.
I just paid my propery taxes FWIW so it rubs me the wrong way when I see a bunch of unemployed idiots on TV bitching about not having their "free" healthcare yet. So I was in a bad mood when I posted the above. Im still mad. But I will not turn this into a pi$$ing contest.
Your posting was disrespectful and uncalled for and you know it. So you are the one who is being disingenous. Enoughy said.

Well, not having representation was part of it (that was the rallying cry of the Sons of Liberty), but... you don't have a representative in Congress?
Why was tea the target? The East India Company was awarded exclusive rights to import tea (frustrating colonists who did this), and the contracts for tea for the Massacusetts Bay Colony were awarded to the British Governor's relatives.
So not only did the colonists not have a voting representative in parliment, parliment was awarding exclusive contracts to British companies (cutting out the colonists), and then the British companies were currying favor with the British Governor by giving his relatives exclusive contracts.
I like history.
