I'm going up north this weekend with my sister. She's visiting from San Diego from Thursday night to Monday afternoon. I'm taking off the afternoon on Friday and probably the morning on Monday, though we'll only go up from Friday afternoon to Saturday night.
Michigan is absolutely beautiful at this time of year with all the trees in full color. And Lake Michigan will be gorgeous. Gotta plan my trip tonight.
Ahh it should be a beautiful weekend in Michigan. Not only are the fall colors spectacular, but the Wolverines are guaranteed not to lose this weekend! :-)
Enjoy your weekend and have a good time with your sister.
BA, so funny that I read this now. We were just debating, "Is it really worth the drive just to look at leaves and water?" I guess I have my answer!
So yes, we WILL go up north tomorrow and we will NOT (probably) watch the football game (though we MAY listen if it's on the radio). Seriously, I need to go back to my special place.
I mean, my horoscope even said so - "visit old familiar stomping grounds." !!!
I had a crazy day today on Bombaversary #2, but it wasn't half as depressing as yesterday (?) and not a MILLIONTH as depressing as last year when it happened. I felt then like I had been run over by a truck. Today? Just like a few people had stepped on my toes or bumped my shoulder. Soooooooooo much better!
Hey Mrs. A - no worries about watching the game on tv, they aren't playing this weekend that's why I guaranteed they wouldn't lose :-)!
Isn't time wonderful in how it helps heal wounds and soften blows. When I think back to the mess I was 2 1/2 years ago and how strong I am now it is like night and day.
Have a great trip. Wish I was headed there myself!
I'm taking a cue from Newmama and gonna try to report the facts without too much philosophizing...
After I logged off of here on Thursday night and started getting ready for bed, Mr. A called me. He was really feeling sorry for himself and just wanted my kindly ear to listen and sympathize.
What's so weird is that I spent time on Bombaversary and the days leading up to it being mad about what a great, free life he has now and how he totally screwed me over. Then he called to tell me what an awful life he has! There must be some kind of lesson in there...
Then I went up north with my sister. My favorite hotel only had one room left, so we took it. It happened to be one of the Honeymoon Suites - king-size bed with in-room jacuzzi. I have fond memories of staying in a similar room with Mr. A, but oh well. F* it - I enjoyed the jacuzzi!
Love love love that hotel. You walk out of the room's sliding door and you're on a private beach at Lake Michigan. Every room has a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, lots of cable channels, etc. Plus a private patio! Then the hotel also has an awesome indoor pool and hot tub, and they have a great sunroom (called the breezeway) where you can get breakfast in the morning, including waffles!
