Today XW texted me today that she wanted to talk to D8,

"Can I talk to D8 for a minute? I have good news for her!"


I thought it could wait, surely?, until tomorrow when she sees the kids again? I thought about it for about 30 minutes and then had D8 call her Mom. Turns out that D8 won a coloring contest at a local pizza place and won an 8 inch pizza. That could have definetly waited I thought. Then 10 minutes later I got another text...

"Don't tell the girls but, Step-grandpa is in the hospital. He has had several small strokes. They plan on keeping him for a few days."


I said I was sorry and asked her what hospital he was in. I also told her that I would say a prayer for him. She thanked me and I left it at that.

I am not sure how to handle this fellow DBers. I plan on going to see him at the hospital but I don't think I am going to start talking to XW about it. I still don't want to talk to her. Am I being stupid here?
